MARK Rail
Milwaukee Area-Racine-Kenosha Passenger Rail

Overview

The Milwaukee Area-Racine-Kenosha (MARK) Rail Study is exploring the potential for establishing passenger rail service in the existing rail corridor connecting Milwaukee, Racine, and Kenosha.

MARK Rail presents an opportunity to better connect lakeshore communities to the economic and cultural networks of the Chicago-Milwaukee megaregion. The Study will establish a vision for the corridor, with a focus on enhancing regional mobility, spurring investment in the corridor, strenghtening underserved communities, and providing an environmentally sustainable transportation option.

Project Goals:

  • Enhance regional mobility for a wide range of trip types throughout the day
  • Strengthen economically distressed areas and spur investment in communities along the study corridor
  • Address traffic congestion and improve air quality
